Guitar Chords: Baarish, Yaariyan [2014]
This song, Baarish from the movie Yaariyan seems to be a hit among the youngsters (more for the romantically inclined ;)). I wanted to cover it on the blog as it would be a good song to practice for the beginners using a capo. Without capo, you will have to play barre chords which can be difficult.
The strumming pattern is very simple and quite common. Below pattern should suffice:
| 1&2& | 3&4& | 5&6& | 7&8& | | D-D- | D--U | -U-U | D--- |
Most of the chords are simple to play once a capo is placed on the 3rd fret. The chords are:
Now the song:
*** Use capo on 3rd fret ***
(Mukhda)
(C)Yaariyan,(D)yaariyan,
Bm/C/Am
Em/Em/Em
(Stanza 1)
(Em)Kya hua a(Em)sar tere,
(A)Sath reh kar na jaane,
Ki (C)hosh mu(D)jhe na ra(Em)ha,
(Em)Lafz me(Bm)re jo zu(A)baan pe aake ruke,
Par (C)ho na sa(D)ke wih ba(Em)yaan,
(C)Dhadkan tera hi (D)naam jo le,
(C)Aankhein bhi pai(D)gam yeh de,
(C)Teri nazar ka hi yeh asar hay,
(C)Yaariyan,(D)yaariyan,
(Similarly Stanza 2)
I tried F#m also…………….but its sounding grt in ur style!!!
With or without capo?
Which chords to use for playing without a capo?
Just transpose the song 3 scale up. So, Em->Gm, D->F and so on…
Can i play leads of this song with capo on 3rd fret. Could you please give me tabs with capo.
Sorry Saurabh, I am not good with tabs. Search the net, somebody must have posted the tabs for this famous song. Tabs can be played with a capo but I don’t think its needed. Capo reduces the complexity of chords by changing the key… won’t have much difference with tabs.
Thank you boss 🙂
So it means i can play chords with capo on 1 guitar & tabs without capo on another guitar simultaneously.

Yes you can. When you use a capo, you are not changing the key of the song but only the key in which you are playing on guitar. To a listener there won’t be any difference. But to you as a player, it is a relief since playing barre chords continuously can cause pain in the fingers.
