Guitar Chords: Dil To Baccha Hai Ji, Ishqiya

This is a beautiful, slow and simple strumming song sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. But it uses barre chords so practice hard if you are not yet comfortable with barre chords.
The strumming pattern used in the song is very simple with just 2 down strokes. It can be ornamented in various parts of the song with another stroke to make a connected rhythm.
Strumming Pattern
| 1 & 2 & | | D D - - |
In the first down stroke, only the root note can be played at the start of the song. Later, complete chord can be struck on both strokes.

hey i thing C# is a bit higher note….
the original note is Bm….
it suits best to the rhythm of the song….
jst try nd see it once…..
Hi Nishu,
Do you mean Bm should be in place of C#? That would be incorrect. If you listen carefully at the start of the song, the note played is definitely not Bm. It does come in the song later on though as mentioned in the post.
hi abhinav 🙂 , i m a beginer and i only wanna sum songs in guitar . can u give me . guitar chords in numbers actually i understand dat easily > plz
but how will we find beats
Hi ,
I have recently started learning guitar .. Hence i have a very basic question.
The chords mentioned above for this song has lines like:
F#m – 244222
.
.
What does the number in front of F#m signifies?.
Any valid reply will be highly appreciated.
-Thanks.
F#m is a barre chord. The numbers indicate the frets which you need to press with your fingers. With your index bar the 2nd fret, and keep the ring finger and little finger on the 4th fret of 5th & 4th string respectively.
You will need to practice barre chords a lot before you become comfortable with it.
Hi Abhinav, U r doing a great work. I’ve a question, did u mean that # represent a bar chord? or is it meant for the “sharp”. I mean for F#m : is it “F minor bar chord” or is it “F minor sharp”?
i want to ask the same question
F#m means F-sharp-minor. This particular chord is played as a barre chord and can be played, as Abhinav explains above, as 244222
Thank you for the reply.. the information is indeed helpful.

Someone posted corrections by replacing c# with c#7. I think that is right. It sounds much closer to the original. I’ve posted the chords too on my site, do check dhatteriki dot blogspot dot com. Thanks!
