Guitar Chords: Kabira, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani [2013]

Kabira is long due on the blog and after getting multiple requests for this song, it had to be posted. Kabira is one of my favorite songs which I have been listening on repeat since it released back in May 2013. Not sure why I never got around to posting it sooner. I also enjoyed the highly uplifting. The song itself is fairly simple using chords D, G, A and Bm. But the beauty of the song lies in the singing by Rekha Bhardwaj and Tochi Raina. So if you can sing well or get hold of a great singer, strumming the guitar alongside would be fun. There is no one strumming pattern that will fit the whole song. The…

Guitar Chords: Tu Hai Unplugged, Besharam [2013]

The movie turned out to be a big dud and I hadn't given the songs any look until I came across this song in theater during interval while watching the movie Prisoners (a good film by the way). Although the song is completely at odds with the title of the movie, it is very pleasing to hear. The chords are very simple, but the hallmark of the song is its strumming pattern. It uses the right hand muting technique which is fun to play and a nice addition to your guitar skills. Check out the chords you need to play: The strumming pattern is: | 1 & 2 & | 3 & 4 & | | D U M U…

Guitar Chords: Jo Bhi Main, Rockstar

So, how many of you loved the movie Rockstar? Loved it or not, you can't really dislike the awesome music by A R Rahman! Amongst all the wonderful songs, the one that stands apart for me is Jo Bhi Main which essentially captures the crux of the whole movie very well. The song revolves around one of the Jazz chords, Em7 - E minor 7th chord, although the song is by no means Jazzy :). (Is it just me or has A R Rahman recently used 7th chords in quite a few of his songs?) Another interesting chord is C6. Other than that it uses basic open chords like Gmaj and Dmaj. So beginners can easily play this song. So…

Guitar Chords/Tabs: Tu Jaane Na, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani

The unplugged version of Tu Jaane Na from the upcoming movie Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is done by the talented trio of Kailash Kher, Paresh and Naresh. Although the Atif Aslam version is equally good, guitar enthusiasts will enjoy the unplugged version more. It is a beautiful song with deep and long lyrics. Kailash Kher has sung it exceptionally well. The song is in the key of A major. Some of the chords used here are similar to the song Kahin To, from Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na which was in the scale of A#. You will need to master barre chords to be able to play this song. Thanx to my old time friend for bringing this song…

Guitar Chords: Iktara, Wake Up Sid [2009]

Some songs can be so beautiful and so touching that you can feel the beats vibrating your hair follicles! As I am understanding music bit by bit with every song, I realize one fact that the greatest of the songs are composed with some of the basic chords that you might have been playing since long. It is the innovativeness and the skill of the musician which makes the song sound so wonderful. Yesterday, I watched the movie Wake Up Sid. Very cool movie, a must-watch for every youngster as it touches many aspects of life, the most important being having a soul mate to enjoy the journey of life as you accomplish your goals. (more…)

Guitar Chords: Kya Karoon, Wake Up Sid [2009]

This is a very beautiful and joyous song good enough to set you high on ecstasy. Upon hearing the song, it reminded me of the old and famous Papa Kehte the strumming pattern and the chords are very similar. All of you who are just beginning to learn the guitar, celebrate! Coz this song is just right for you. The strumming pattern, as I said before, is the one used for the song Papa Kehte Hai. It goes like this: | D-DU | -UDU | (more…)

Guitar Chords: Saawariya (Title Song)

Here are chords for another care-free unplugged title song of the film Saawariya. Excellent rhythm… very soothing to the ears! I think for the first part the strumming pattern is like this: |DD- -|U-U-|D-DU| For the remaining pattern, just listen to the song. So here are the chords. INTRO (A) Saawariya aa aa aa aaa… (F#m) Saawariya aa aa aaa… (Bm) Saawariya… (A) ho… saawariya. MUKHDA 1 (D)Doli (A)me bitha ke (D)Sitaro (A)se saja ke (D)Zamane (A)se churake ke (Bm)le jayega… INTRO again… MUKHDA 2 (D)Doli (A)me bitha ke (D)Sitaro (A)se saja ke (D)Zamane (A)se churake ke (Bm)le jayega ek roz tera uda ke jiyaaa… INTRO again… ANTRA 1 (A)Palko ke shaami(F#m)yane mein (Bm)Khabon ke har thik(A)ane mein (A#)Teri hi…
