Pehli Nazar Mein, Atif Aslam [VIDEO RECORDING]
Many of my readers were asking me to post videos of the songs that I put up here at my blog. But there were two things that were stopping me from publishing a video. First, I am an awful singer and needed to find someone who could accompany me on the guitar. Second, I don’t possess a good camera. Finally I managed to obtain a digital camera from a friend. One of my office friends, Bikram, is singing the song while I am strumming the guitar. Do let me know in the comments about what you think of this little cameo.
To know the chords of this song, check out Guitar Chords: Pehli Nazar Mein, Race by Atif Aslam.
If you want to submit your own video recording, send the video link over to xsreality [AT] abhiguitar.com with a small description and if it is good, it will be published here.
wow i love this site…m a novice learner…well i love the effort you guys put in the vedio…it was great bikram is a great singer…but it can be a lot better…like we can know the strumming patterns for many featured songs…also u must do the vedio thing seriously…it was really awesome
thanx a lot for ur comments.. its just a hobby for me..
kool piece of work!!!
No matter what your voice sounds like, the most important thing is your sincerity to make a song worth listening to. I know you will learn the trade soon. Just keep on practicing your craft.
the video is awesome………really great job done yaar..it really encouraging…keep it up….
Hi Abhinav,
This was awesome. Kudos to the Cameo. I am a newbie to guitar and to your site (I love your blog)
I Started to practice different chords, and its going good.
Problem is Strumming. I am not able to recognize the beat. I read through your strumming pattern article, its very comprehensive, and I even understood it. But when putting to practice it doesn’t sound the way it should be (atleast I have the feeling that it isn’t sound like it should).
Can you tell us more about beats and bars (especially how to practice them)?
Like for this song the strumming pattern you are playing is
| D – | D – | DDU- | DUDU |
but when I play it, it is nowhere near the way you played in this song.
You have divided the whole thing in 4 |. You have 1 D and a – in first two block and in 3rd you have DDU- and 4th DUDU. If i count beats it is 2+2+4+4=12 (i auusme – is blank beat), but somewhere i read a bar is 4 beats, I am confused. Can you help understand this.
And again your site is beautiful. What technology did you use to make this?
Best Regards,
Karmendra

Beats, to some people comes naturally, while for others it requires lots of ear training to catch the rhythm. To improve on rhythm, try listening to as many songs as possible and focus on the beats. You can try tapping your hand in sync with the beats to catch the rhythm.
You are right, a bar consists of 4 beats, but when it contains only a single stroke, it is often shortened in notations to show 2 beats. The exact notation would be:
Now, it should be clear!
